2026-27 Winter Spiti Self-Drive Expedition Ex Shimla
Join us for an unforgettable 7 Nights / 8 Days Winter Spiti Self-Drive Expedition starting and ending in Shimla. Explore the spectacular winter landscapes of Narkanda, Sangla, Rakcham, Chitkul, Nako, Tabo, Dhankar, Kaza, Hikkim, Langza, Kibber, Chicham and Kalpa.
This expedition includes a lead and backup vehicle, dedicated team leader, qualified mechanic, tool kit, walkie-talkies in the cars, on-road support and a photography team with drone camera.
Accommodation is provided on single, double or triple sharing basis as required. Enjoy daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with an evening bonfire, high tea and snacks.

ITINERARY
Day 01
WELCOME TO SHIMLA
- Reach Shimla and check in at the hotel.
- In the evening, enjoy a bonfire and high tea followed by a briefing and introduction session with the group and expedition team.
- The session ends with dinner. Overnight stay at Shimla.
- Hotel: Arowana Woods / Deep Woods.
Day 02
SHIMLA - NARKANDA - SANGLA
- After breakfast, check out from the hotel, collect your cars and begin the drive towards Sangla.
- Explore Matiyana, apple orchards, Shilaroo, Narkanda, Rampur, Nathpa Jhakri, Kinnaur Gate, Tranda Dhank and Karcham Wangtoo projects along the way.
- In the evening, reach Sangla. Overnight stay at Sangla.
- Hotel: Kamru.
Day 03
SANGLA - RAKCHAM - CHITKUL - KHAB - NAKO - GEU - TABO
- After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border.
- Explore the beautiful landscapes of Chitkul and Rakcham.
- By 12:30 PM, continue towards Tabo. On the way, visit Khab Sangam, where the River Satluj enters India, Nako Frozen Lake and Geu Mummy.
- In the evening, reach Tabo. Overnight stay at Tabo.
Day 04
TABO - DHANKAR - KEE - CHICHAM - KAZA
- After breakfast, check out from the hotel and visit the 1,200-year-old Tabo Monastery.
- Continue the journey towards Kaza, covering Dhankar Monastery, Kee Monastery and Chicham Bridge, known for its spectacular high-altitude location.
- In the evening, reach Kaza. Overnight stay at Kaza.
Day 05
KAZA LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
- After breakfast, explore the beautiful villages around Kaza.
- Visit Hikkim, one of the highest motorable villages in the world, Langza and its Buddha statue, and Komik.
- In the evening, return to Kaza and explore the local market for authentic Tibetan items.
- Overnight stay at Kaza.
Day 06
KAZA TO KALPA
- After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the journey back towards Kalpa.
- In the evening, reach Kalpa and visit Suicide Point while enjoying the magnificent views of Kinner Kailash.
- Overnight stay at Kalpa.
- Hotel: Sheetal.
Day 07
KALPA TO SHIMLA
- After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the drive back to Shimla.
- In the evening, reach Shimla and celebrate the completion of your dream Winter Spiti Self-Drive Expedition with the group.
